A 17-year Dedication to Japanese Calligraphy
Wonder
175cm x 70cm
-based on the character for hope-
Nozomu. This is an example of zen 'ei ( avant garde). It is executed
with one continuous stroke. However I feel the transliteration would be
better as wonder. The structure of the original character is based on
a man regal as he gazes upon the moon.
This work was awarded the Ecellence award at the 1997 Fuji-Sankei International
Exhibition.
