Japanese Stone Sulpture by Susumu Ikegami

The Japanese tea ceremony requires one to stoop down through a small opening to enter the special room where the ceremony takes place: in other words, to leave everyday life behind and enter a space where values and perceptions take on a different set of meanings. This arch was meant to symbolize the same process.   Marble
