    English Definition:
    Sliding screen or panel of wood, with translucent paper affixed to one side

    Shoji doors have been used since the late 8th century to partition rooms from other rooms and hallways. As Japan becomes more Westernized, shoji screens, panels and doors are slowly disappearing from the country.
