Yakimono - Japanese ceramics or pottery

-Yakimono-
(Also "tojiki" and "toujiki")

English Definition:
Japanese ceramics, pottery

Ceramics' history in Japan is very long--nearly 12,000 years! Many of Japan's major technological and stylistic advances in the area of ceramics came from China but, as always, the Japanese innovated to create a plethora of uniquely Japanese designs.
