Sugi - Japanese Cedar

-Sugi-

English Definition:
Japanese Cedar

Japanese cedar tends to grow up to about 130 feet. Its wood is used for ships, bridges, furniture, and buildings. Because of its fine scent, it has been the wood of choice for building Japanese "sake" casks. The bark is used to make incense.

Note: Sugi relates to the craft, Tategu, Japanese home interior fixtures, such as shoji screens, panels and doors, as well as fusuma sliding doors.
